| Running Log
For the outside observer, running seems to be a horrible way to spend your
time.
Here in Florida, it's arduous and dangerous. While running, you must watch
out for cars, pedestrians, pot holes, joint pain, dehydration, heart attacks,
heat stroke, migrating birds, and worst of all: other runners that make you
look bad.
It is also extremely uncomfortable. If it were pleasant, people would do
it all the time. Too pleasant, and it would be against the law throughout
many parts of Texas.
There are certainly other, more practical means of travel. Driving, skipping,
and Segways are arguably more fun. There are even more exciting sports (I
hear there's a number of things that you can do with a ball these days).
Strangely, it is the only sport that appeals to me
enough to obsess
with. These days I'm training for a Marathon. I'm hoping to get those miles
up in time for the Disney Marathon on Jan 13th, but laziness is a very powerful
and influential friend of mine.
Follow along with my progress, or better yet, run in place for the next four
hours or so. It won't really get you anywhere, but it will make me
feel a lot better about my stupid hobby.
Of course, you'll have to go to the Flash version of the site to see the graph. You really should consider downloading that one of these days. |
