| My Car's Odometer
Are you fascinated by cars? Me neither.
But for some reason, people seem obsessed with asking me "How many miles
do you have on your car?"
I have no explanation for it. I do it too. Whenever I hop into a friend's
vehicle, I ask all the appropriate questions: Does the seat go back any further?
Can I change the radio from this (insert random expletive here)? Is that
smell coming from you?
But sooner or later, I always ask about the mileage. Perhaps talking about
the weather requires too much knowledge of current events. In any case, below
is the Jeffmobile's mileage. This way, instead of inane chatter with my idiot
friends, I can look forward to the following conversation being played out
time and time again:
F = Idiot friend
J = Way cool Jeff
F: Hey, how many miles do you have on this
thing?
J: Check my website.
F: Why would your car mileage be on your
website?
J: Because I put it there.
F: Why can't you just tell me?
J: Why can't you just shut up?
